Weston Frizzell presents Pop-ART Multimedia Supergroup Cardboard&Computers
The first major exhibition of new Weston Frizzell paintings since the massive BLOCKBUSTERS 2012.
Another exceptional Weston Frizzell exhibition, but with a twist – they’ve (unsurprisingly – was just a matter of time) produced a very special 12 inch release, a first for the pop-art duo, alongside 20 new paintings and a hot new limited edition print + vinyl package. The song is what one can only describe as a shock wave genre slam of electro metal and has informed the entire exhibition, oozing nostalgia in an 1980’s misspent youth kinda way. The familiar heavy painterly impasto icky-ness of the paint that Weston Frizzell layers and seemingly sculpts in the process brings an ironic human connectivity to the subject matter. Pacman, Trump, jackpot cherries, the peoples flag, spray cans, skulls and ghoulish smiley faces painted in heavily textured pixelated icons, and found throughout the installation actually pixelated in an L.E.D 8 bit homage to a hypnotic degree.
To consecrate the birth of the Cardboard and Computers project , Weston Frizzell present a Limited Edition art music package featuring 3 colour screenprint “BESTBITS”, and new single ‘TheBestOnes’ on 12” audiophile vinyl.
The signed, numbered and stamped screenprint is $280 and available in two colour variants in an edition 0f 100:
