Nat & Sam

Nat Tozer - Producer / Creative Director

Nat Tozer (Tangata Tiririti) holds an MFA with first-class honours (2022), a PGDipFA with Distinction (2020) and a BFA (2001) from the University of Auckland Waipapa Taumata Rau. In 2025 she was commissioned to produce a work for Mason’s Screen Wellington. In 2024 she presented Erotic Geologies at Gow Langsford Onehunga, and at the Sluice Biennial / PADA Residency at Lisbon Art Weekend in 2022. In 2023 she presented moving image work at The Metamodern in Literature, Art, Education, and Indigenous Cosmologies: An Interdisciplinary Symposium at AUT, and for Māter Mater at Silo 6. In 2021 she won The Lightship Award which funded the presentation of an open-air 110m video work at The Ports of Auckland.

Nat is also founder and kaitiaki of the artists-run initiative mothermother which has supported curatorial activism for underrepresented artists since 2019.

Sam Tozer - Director, Director of Photography and VFX Supervisor

Sam Tozer (Kāti Mamoe / Clan MacKenzie) has recently contributed to the post production of Luke Willis Thompson’s Soro (2025) exhibited at Te Wai Ngutu Kākā, and Brett Graham’s Wastelands (2025) exhibited at the Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki. He has produced work for the Sluice Biennale in Lisbon (2022), the permanent iwi-led display in Hokianga Footprints of Kupe (2020), the Texas immigration museum (2020), Chen Chen’s Best New Zealand Short Documentary Little Potato (2025) and Morag Brownlie’s multi-award winning short film Perfect Storm (2022).

Sam has been an integral part of New Zealand artist Lisa Reihana’s success leading the technical direction and VFX supervision for her exhibitions In Pursuit of Venus {infected} (2017) at La Biennale di Venezia, Ihi (2020) a permanent display at Aotea Centre, Maramatanga (2024) a permanent display at the University of Auckland Waipapa Taumata Rau, Taiwhetuki - House of Death (2015) at Bishop Museum Pacific Hall, Honolulu Biennale, Nomads of the Sea (2019) at Sharjah Biennial, UAE, and Groundloop (2023) at the new Sydney Modern.
