Kaitohu Sam Tozer is responsible for producing long-format, large-scale, high-resolution moving image installations for visual artists, directors and creative agencies. He is based at LOT23 which he runs with artist / director Natalie Tozer, together they specialise in providing bespoke green-screen, VFX and post production workflows for moving image artists working locally and on the international stage.
LOT23 has been an integral part of celebrated New Zealand artist Lisa Reihana’s success for exhibitions In Pursuit of Venus {infected} (La Biennale di Venezia), Ihi (Aotea Centre), Taiwhetuki - House of Death (Walters Prize Installation), Nomads of the Sea (Sharjah Biennial, UAE) and Groundloop (Sydney Modern Commission) and her private commission for Christian Louboutin’s retrospective museum show L’Exhibtion [niste] in 2020 at the Palais de la Porte Doree, Paris. Sam Tozer’s roles for all of these projects were - Technical Director, Director of Photography, Editor, VFX supervisor, VFX and Compositor.
